D.C.’s Pilates @ Incline recently opened a new studio at the Incline Village Corporate Center located at 917 Tahoe Boulevard in Incline Village, Nev. Owner David “D.C.” Cummings is accepting new clients who seek a healthier, stronger body or those who need assistance with physical injuries or extreme sports conditioning. “Our client base is extremely varied,” says Owner, David Cummings. “We work with professional athletes, weekend warriors, couch potatoes and everyone in-between.” Although Pilates is best known for strengthening the “core” muscles of the body to improve one’s overall strength and fitness levels, Cummings notes that his clients seek his professional expertise to also help with the healing process of back, knee, shoulder and other body injuries. “When individuals consistently include Pilates as part of their wellness program, they are getting a full body workout; this type of whole body conditioning can resolve a variety of physical body issues while at the same time, improve the body overall.”

He further explained that Pilates, named after Joseph Pilates, is a form of exercise that emphasizes the balanced development of the core muscles of the body – those that wrap the body between the rib cage and the pelvis. Pilates even designed specialized equipment to help develop these muscle groups; Cummings’ new studio is completely outfitted with the latest STOTT Pilates branded equipment.

Cummings has offered private Pilates instruction throughout the Eastern Sierra for the past seven years. “My clients received the finest training available in the business.” Cummings is STOTT PILATES certified which is the highest level of training one can receive in this business.

On the first day, my arms were shaking; I was floored. Apparently I was missing something vitally important in my work out regime. It was revolutionary.”

In addition to the physical benefits, Pilates is well-known for its calming features that focus on proper breathing techniques and developed thought processes that can result in a less stressful and more energized lifestyle.

Lake Tahoe Chamber Mixer Set for June 22!

The Incline Village Corporate Center will host a North Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce Mixer on June 22 to celebrate the start of summer and provide a Grand Opening Celebration of Rainbow Printing’s new business location at 917 Tahoe Boulevard. This festive event will start with a Ribbon Cutting at 5:00 pm and continue until 7:00 pm. Premier Asset Management, Chase International, the Tahoe Rim Trail, and Rainbow Printing and Office Supply are co-hosting the celebration which will include food, beverage, raffle prizes, music and dancing with the “Jacked-Up” band. Representatives from a variety of arts and culture organizations will also be on hand with information about their upcoming summer events.
